More Coffee Please

It’s no surprise that I’m a big time Coffee Lover for those who know me. So it probably comes as no surprise that I’m writing a blog post on the delicious subject.

If you share a passion for this “liquid gold” like I do, go grab a cup, hot or cold (I’m sipping on a cold one as we speak) and enjoy reading my blog post.

A few weeks ago I came across an article on yahoo titled “Tired of Water? Read This!” So I proceeded to read… of course, the first paragraph was most intriguing to me, as it referred to the health benefits of coffee. Did you know that coffee can help lower your risk of all the following:

Alzheimer’s
Parkinson’s
Breast Cancer
Skin Cancer
Diabetes
Gallstones
Oral Cancer

Interesting, huh? I thought so too. If you don’t believe what you’re reading, “Google It” as my husband frequently tells me, and see for yourself. You’ll find article after article on the benefits of coffee. You’ll come across more benefits than just the few I provided above.

THEN, to add a little humor to my “journey of coffee knowledge” I came across THIS article… be prepared to giggle a little.

Jolting Java News: Coffee Shrinks Your Boobs!” Is this factual or just a coincidence for me? lol Either way, it doesn’t stop me from my daily indulgence on this yummy beverage. God has blessed me with more important things than large breasts=)

Now I’m not telling you to drink cup after cup all day longĀ  because too much of anything is not good for you. Studies show, however, that a few cups per day is sufficient enough to reap the benefits of coffee.

Until next blog post, keep sipping that Java!

I remember you showing me that article about the benefits of coffee and it always comes to mind when I have a cup. And though I am not drinking it for the health benefits and more for the energy and alertness, it is still nice to know that I am receiving natures assistance in preventing those illnesses. Thanks hunny! Great post.

Amen, Ashley! I’m a fellow coffee lover (LOVE 8 O’clock brand, especially), but I mostly drink it for the flavor. Surprisingly enough I used to hate the taste of coffee, but now I truly enjoy drinking it plain & black. I’m glad I’m not super-hooked on “needing” it. I even tinker with my own frozen coffee drinks….YUMMY! Any article or t.v. program on coffee always intrigues me.

That’s funny you said that Faith because I JUST tried the 8 O’clock Coffee brand this past week! It’s sooo good! Love the different flavors they offer. I was hesitant b/c it was pretty cheap, but it ended up being really yummy:) I do have to admit, I’m slightly addicted. I remember when I got pregnant and stopped drinking coffee cold turkey… whoa, talk about some serious headaches! lol Anyways, glad we share a common interest!

Clifton, I’m glad you’re now drinking coffee with me on a regular basis:) Makes me happy when I have to make 2 cups of coffee, rather than just one. I’m rubbing off on you, and I like that.

Mom, I’m pretty sure you get credit for my coffee addiction. Yours is more like, a cup of hot water with a splash of coffee though. Too weak for me! :) lol

Thanks for reading and the comments! I love hearing feedback on my posts. Have a great weekend!

Yep, people don’t give 8 O’clock brand much of a look, I think because
    1) we don’t see mass advertising for them,
    2) they don’t have fancy packaging, and
    3) they don’t have a billion flavors to choose from/lots of shelf-space
I forget what peaked my interest in that brand, but I’ve bought it ever since. Even Consumer Reports has given the brand great reviews.

You know, I *NEVER* thought I’d grind my own coffee, but a few years ago I bought my own little grinder and now grind my own. I figure, even if I grind a week’s worth at a time (versus every single day), it will taste more fresh than pre-ground coffee. I’m not a coffee snob, though…..pre-ground coffee is fine :)
